Police Probe Death of Teen Girl Found Along Kisoro–Kabale Road
Investigations are underway after the body of a 15-year-old girl was discovered along the Kisoro–Kabale Road in Kisoro Municipality, with police probing circumstances surrounding her death.

Police in Kisoro District have launched investigations into the death of a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in Kisoro Municipality under circumstances suggesting possible foul play.

The deceased has been identified as Brenda Munezero, a resident of Kisoro Hill Village, Busamba Ward, Southern Division in Kisoro District.

Munezero's body was discovered at the Old Market area along the Kisoro–Kabale Road on Monday morning.

According to eyewitness Zirarusha Tugume, the teenager was found unclothed and with visible injuries.

Tugume said Munezero had earlier been in the company of her brothers before leaving with a man identified as Vicent Mashengesho, a Rwandan national.

“Munezero’s brothers, Zirarusha and Kamodoka, had been drinking with her earlier. She later left with a Rwandan national, Vicent Mashengesho, to an unknown location,” Tugume said.

Annet Peace, the deceased's aunt, described Munezero as an orphan who had been living with her brothers in Kisoro Town while struggling to make a living.

Police officers visited the scene and conveyed the body to Kisoro Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

By press time, police had not issued an official statement regarding the incident and no arrests had been confirmed.

Investigators are expected to rely on postmortem findings and witness accounts to establish the circumstances surrounding Munezero’s death.

The incident has sparked concern among residents, who are calling for a thorough investigation and swift action against anyone found responsible.
